Join Abel Ranch wranglers on their 100 year old working cattle and horse ranch in central Montana. The 30,000 acre ranch is located in the foothills of the Bull Mountains, which offers timbered canyons spilling onto a vast prairie landscape. We are not a dude ranch. This is your chance to experience cowboy life as it was and as it is- an opportunity to join us on an authentic roundup. Our crew has over 70 years of ranching experience and will show you how to care for your own personal horse as well as riding & cattle heading instruction. Help us as we move cattle from their calving ground onto the grasses of the summer range. We will sleep underneath the stars in range tents and teepees and eat out of an original chuck wagon. If you have cowboy / cowgirl blood in your veins and would like to do it the old fashioned way, come join us for a cattle drive at the Abel Ranch. No nose to tail walk here! You are free to trot or gallop through the mountain meadows.
